The Forkstrong Today screen for Monday 5 October, week 1 (Ease in): nutrition at 0 of 3,090 kcal and 0 of 158 g protein, then the first of five meals, Before training at 06:25.

A workout app knows what you lift. A food app knows what you eat. Neither tells you what to do tomorrow.

Forkstrong plans both together. Your food targets follow your training days, and one screen shows today's session and today's meals.

How it works

Forkstrong takes about three minutes to set up. After that, it tells you what to do each day.

  1. Answer a few questions

Your goal (lose fat, build muscle or get fitter), the days you can train, how long a session can be, your equipment, your body and daily activity, how you eat and any allergens.

  2. Get your plan

A 12-week strength programme over the days you chose, and calorie and protein targets with meals sized to them.

  3. Open it each day

Today's session and today's meals on one screen. Log each set with one tap as you go.

What you get

Forkstrong plans what you lift and what you eat from the same answers, so your food targets follow your training days.

Training

A Forkstrong workout, Upper A in week 5 (Build): flat dumbbell bench press and chest-supported row as a superset, each with a form photo and last session's numbers, and prompts to add weight (20 to 22 kg on the press, 40 to 42.5 kg on the row), above a set logger at 22 kg and 6 reps.
  • A 12-week strength programme in phases: ease in, build, intensify, then a lighter test week.
  • For a full gym, machines only, dumbbells, resistance bands or no equipment. It never prescribes kit you said you do not have.
  • Sets logged with one tap, last session's numbers filled in, and a rest timer between sets.
  • When to add weight and when to hold, what each session is for, and two form photos for each exercise.
  • Swap an exercise, drop one or put in your own. Declare time away and the plan adjusts around it.
  • History of every session, charts and a weekly summary. After week 12, repeat the block from your new bests, set a new goal, or train freely.

Eating

The Forkstrong Nutrition screen: targets of 3,250 kcal and 186 g protein, five meals a day, food preferences, a food library of 293 foods, 72 recipes, the pantry, the meal planner and the shopping list.
  • Calorie and protein targets from your body, daily activity, training days and goal, with a weight target and a pace you choose.
  • Meal options and recipes for each meal of the day, with portions sized to your targets. You choose how many meals a day and when.
  • 72 recipes and a library of 293 foods, plus your own foods and recipes.
  • Vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan choices in every meal slot. Foods with an allergen you chose, or that you dislike, are left out of suggestions. The app filters by the ingredients it knows about and cannot guarantee a food is safe.
  • A week planner, a shopping list for 3, 7 or 14 days, a prep-day view, and "cook with what you have" from your pantry.
  • A weekly check that suggests raising or lowering calories from how your weight is actually moving. You decide whether to apply it.

Every day

  • A Today screen with the session, the meals and the day's totals.
  • Reminders for training, meals and a morning weigh-in, each switched on by you and explained before the phone asks for permission.
  • Home-screen widgets for the session and the meals.
  • A workout notification with "Set done" and "+30 s" buttons, so you can tick off sets from the lock screen.
  • Light and dark themes, and layouts that hold at large text sizes.
  • A first-visit hint on each screen, a Help page and a glossary of the jargon.

Built around you

Forkstrong builds the plan around the life you have instead of assuming a standard person.

  • 2 to 6 days

Train two to six days a week. You pick the days, and the programme is arranged over them.

  • Gym or floor

A full gym, machines only, dumbbells, resistance bands, or no equipment at all.

  • 4 ways to eat

Everything, pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan, with choices in every meal slot.

  • 14 allergens

Leave out any of the 14 major food allergens, and foods you dislike. The app filters by the ingredients it knows about and cannot guarantee a food is safe, so check labels.

  • Your hours

You set how long a session can be, how many meals a day, and when.

  • Time away

Declare travel or a break, and the plan adjusts around it.

The Forkstrong Train screen: a Build muscle programme of 4 days a week at 45 minutes a session, and week 5 (Build) with Upper A, Lower A and Upper B, each with its date, a 07:00 start and a Start button.

Why Forkstrong is different

  • Most apps do half the job

A workout tracker and a calorie counter each record one half, and neither knows about the other. Forkstrong plans both, and one screen shows today's session and today's meals.

  • It plans, not just records

Trackers start empty and wait for you to fill them in. Forkstrong starts from a few answers, builds a 12-week programme and a meal plan sized to you, then tells you when to add weight and when to eat more or less.

  • It fits the life you have

Two days or six. A gym or a living-room floor. Vegan, or allergic to nuts. Away for two weeks. Forkstrong builds the plan around those facts.

Yours, and careful with you

Forkstrong has no account and no ads, and keeps what you log on your phone. A health check and a calorie floor are built in.

Your data

  • No account and nothing to sign up for. No ads.
  • What you log is stored on your phone and in backups you control.
  • Anonymous usage statistics are off unless you turn them on. They never include your body, food or workout numbers.
  • Export your logs, save a backup, restore on a new phone, or erase everything.
  • The app works without a connection. There is no cloud account, so a lost phone without a saved backup loses its data.

Read the privacy policy

Your safety

  • For adults, 18 and over.
  • A short health check at the start. Any "yes" brings advice to check with a doctor first.
  • A calorie floor: the app never plans below the higher of your resting energy, 1,500 kcal (men) or 1,200 kcal (women), and 75% of maintenance.
  • No calorie deficit during pregnancy or after a recent birth.
  • General guidance, not medical or dietary advice. The app says so.

What is Forkstrong?

Forkstrong is an Android app that plans your strength training and your meals together: a 12-week programme and a meal plan sized to your targets, built around your week.

How is it different from a workout tracker or a calorie counter?

A workout tracker records what you lift and a calorie counter records what you eat. Forkstrong plans both, so your food targets follow your training days and one screen shows today's session and today's meals.

Do I need a gym?

No. Forkstrong builds the programme for a full gym, machines only, dumbbells, resistance bands or no equipment, and never prescribes kit you said you do not have.

How many days a week do I need?

Forkstrong works with two to six training days a week. You pick the days, and the programme is arranged over them.

I am vegetarian, vegan, or have an allergy. Will the meals work?

Do I need an account? What happens to my data?

No. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. What you log stays on your phone and in backups you control. Anonymous usage statistics are off unless you turn them on, and never include your body, food or workout numbers. The privacy policy has the details.

Is it on Google Play or iPhone?

No. Forkstrong is an Android app distributed through APKPure. It is not on Google Play and not available for iPhone.

Is it safe? Is this medical advice?

Forkstrong is general guidance for adults, not medical advice. There is a short health check at the start, and the app never plans calories below a safe floor. If you have a health condition or are pregnant, talk to a doctor first. Read health and safety before you start.

What happens after 12 weeks?

After week 12 you choose: repeat the block from your new bests, set a new goal, or train freely.
